This article will provide instructions on how to show Player Accolades during a game using a ScoreVision scorekeeping app or the Producer App.
A Player Accolade is a quick, on-demand feature that can be used to highlight a player's name and photo. To utilize this feature, you must first add a photo to the player's card found in his/her team's roster in our ScoreVision Cloud account.
Displaying Accolades from Scorekeeper Apps
It is important to note that Player Accolades are not available within all scorekeeping apps. Sports such as basketball and volleyball have this functionality while other sports like hockey and lacrosse do not. To trigger a player accolade within a ScoreVision scorekeeping app, you must first ensure the following are true:
- the sport you are scorekeeping supports player accolades,
- player photos have been uploaded in the team roster section of the Cloud prior to scoring the game, and
- you are in a scorekeeping mode that utilizes stat tracking.
Note: Press the menu button and select Game Options to view the scorekeeping mode selected for your game. If a game is started in "Scoreboard Only" mode, you will not be able to change to a Player Stats mode once points for either team has been assigned.
Begin the game and scorekeeping as expected. Once you’ve assigned points/stats to a player, the "player accolade" button will light up in the team's color for several seconds between the roster buttons.
Press the accolade button while it is illuminated and a special layout that features the player's name and photo will show on the display.
If you press the accolade button for a player who does not have a photo uploaded into their team roster section of the Cloud, the accolade will still show but the default player photo or the team logo will show in place of the player's individual photo.
Displaying Accolades from the Producer App
1. The Producer App has an accolade button that can also be engaged based on stats that are entered on the ScoreVision Scorekeeper app. Just as described above, the person running the Producer app can press the accolade button when it is illuminated with the team's color to engage the accolade on the display. The Producer app shows the player number in the center of the accolade button and is illuminated for a longer timeframe than the scorekeeper app.
2. Some sports also give the Producer App the ability to engage a player accolade independent of attributing a player stat on the ScoreVision scorekeeping app. This creates an opportunity to feature a player who is making great defensive plays or contributing to the team in a way other than the specific stat that typically illuminates the accolade button. If this feature is available for the sport you are scoring, you will see an automatically-generated collection on your content bar of Producer. To engage a player accolade in this situation, complete the following step:
- press the HOME or AWAY collection on the content bar,
- select a player you wish to display in the accolade, then
- press the accolade button in the upper-right corner of Producer.
