      Team Templates

      This article provides steps for creating and utilizing team templates in the Competitions & Events section of the ScoreVision Cloud.

      Team Templates is a feature that allows users to save a templated copy of a Team and use that template to create new Teams in other Seasons AND Sports so that they don't have to retype or re-upload information each time.

      Saving a Previously Created Team to Your Team Templates

      1. After a Team has been created in the Cloud (any Team in any Season under any Sport), users can save that Team as a Template.  When viewing the TEAMS associated within a season, click on TEAM OPTIONS at the bottom of that team's card and then choose SAVE AS TEMPLATE.

      2. You will be directed to the page for creating a new template.  The Template creation form should include all the following information from the team being saved as a template: name, short name, team logo, default player photo, team color, grade, gender, and level. (NOTE: fields that were left blank on the original team will remain blank on the template unless additional information is added to the template creation form)

      The form for creating a new Template includes a required field labeled, "Template Name." This field is intended for a friendly title that will be used in the dropdown menu when creating a new team using the Template.

      (NOTE: when using the template, the team information, such as team name, short name, logo, etc., will pre-populate. You will not have to manually enter the information for each new season or sport.)

      3. Click SAVE to have the details persist within your Template.

      Creating a New Team Template

      1. From the TEAMS menu within any season for any sport, click on the TEAM TEMPLATES tab.

      2. Click ADD TEAM TEMPLATE to create a new template for a team.

      3. Complete the details within the Template creation form that you wish to save. This may include any or all of the following information: team name, short name, team logo, default player photo, team color, grade, gender, and level.

      4. Click SAVE to preserve your team details in the Template.

      Managing Team Templates

      All existing Templates - no matter which Season or Sport they were created under - should persist in a list of cards under the Team Templates tab across all Seasons and Sports. Changes can be made to an existing template by clicking the EDIT button on the bottom of the card. This will re-open the Template creation form so that changes to the template can be made as necessary. Any changes made to the Template record will not affect any Team records, even if the team record was created through the use of this Template. Clicking the DELETE button on a Template record will trigger a confirmation alert and then destroy that Template.

      Using Team Templates to Create a New Team

      When managing Teams within any season of any sport, navigate to the Teams section with your desired season listed as the Current Season Displayed.  Click on the ADD TEAM button and you will have the option to create a new Team from scratch or to use an existing Template. If a user elects to create a new Team using a Template, the data fields (name, short name, team logo, default player photo, team color, grade, gender, and level) will automatically be populated with the Team information associated with the Template selected.
